Bride interview with Becca from Rebecca Ellison Photography
Please take a moment and read this before hiring Becca.

How long have you been a photographer? And how did you become a photographer?
I fell in love with the art of photography in high school and realized that I wanted to pursue a career in it. I absorbed everything I could about photography until I was accepted into a prestigious commercial photography program in Seattle, where I was able to solidify my knowledge not only of the camera but also of lighting and post processing. I graduated in 2005 and started pursuing a career in the commercial photography industry by working in product studios and on catalog, fashion and editorial shoots. I soon realized that I was more passionate about photographing real people going through real changes in life and capturing memories that they would treasure forever than I was about creating photos for advertising and sales purposes. I started photographing weddings in 2006 and fell in love with all aspects of the craft. Throughout each wedding day, I am making a lasting difference for my couples by capturing their wedding, so that years and generations later, the love and excitement can still be felt through their images. And once the wedding is over, I love coming back into clients lives as they make the next major step in life, with pregnancy and beautiful babies!

We love your services. We love your portfolio. Can you tell me what sets you apart from all the other photographers out there?
Capturing your wedding isn’t just about capturing the human element to the day, but capturing everything that you have put into it as well. Your wedding is unique because of the decisions you have made about everything from the venue to the color of your napkins. Each piece is infused with your personality and is important to capture all aspects of it to show the whole of your day, and I take great pride in capturing all of the unique elements of your day. It’s about life, love and all the little things…

This all sounds wonderful but it sounds expensive. Are we going to be able to afford this?
Your wedding is one of the largest investments you have probably ever made. There are a lot of details that go into it and at the end of the day it’s the emotion, moments and details captured that will help you remember everything as the years go by. If you ask any married friend, they will tell you the day goes by in a blur. Photography is one of the few investments you will make that day that will keep on giving because it will last through the ages and keep your memories of the day fresh. So yes, it is expensive, but it is an investment into your memories that will last your entire lifetime.

Who do you work best with?
Couples that understand and are willing to have fun with the photography process are great. Great photographs take time to create and the time we take to create the images of you and your fiance are important and are meant to be fun. I enjoy laughing and creating moments that bring out your personality, so the best type of couple is one that will relax and have a good time with me, and will be willing to spend the time to create the images they desire. I work to create an easy, open communication level with my clients so that we can work together to make the photos of your special moments the best we can.

Who will not benefit from your services?
It is my job to capture the important moments of your day, and in doing so I take my responsibilities very seriously. If someone feels like they “must” have a photographer, but really hates to have to work with one or talk openly with one, then both of us will feel extremely uncomfortable. I hope to connect with people who are looking to enjoy their time together and their time with me, working as a team throughout the day. The best photos come from a sense of trust between the person being photographed and the photographer, so finding a photographer that you match well with is extremely important.

Do you use a second photographer?
I offer a second photographer option for couples who want the extra coverage or for weddings with a guest list of over 200 guests, but not all couples need a second photographer. For smaller weddings, I cover them with ease myself, and I always bring an assistant with me to help throughout the day. I never go to a wedding solo, ensuring the quality of what I will be producing for you.

Do you have backup equipment?
Of course! Technology is fabulous, but anything with a battery has the possibility of failure. I always have a backup camera with me, lens and flash just in case something goes wrong. If I have a camera malfunction, it will take me less than 3 minutes to be back up and running and you will never know there was an issue!

Will you be the photographer day of if we hire you?

Of course! Personality is paramount, and you are hiring me not only for the style of photography that I provide, but because you expect to enjoy spending your entire wedding day with me! I am the vendor you will work most closely with throughout the day, so it is important that you trust in me and know that I am the person who will show up and capture your day as you expect.

Will you work with the vendors I have already chosen, or really want to work with?
Yes! The team of vendors you put together is a reflection of you and your preferences, and I love working with other vendors to make the dream of your wedding come true, whether I have worked with them before or not!

Do you take credit cards and can we have a payment plan?
Yes, I take cash, check or credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, or Discover). To confirm your booking, I require a contract signed by both bride and groom, as well as a 25% retainer to hold the date. The remainder is due 30 days prior to the wedding, and you can pay that in payments scheduled up to the date the payment is due in full, or in one complete payment. It is up to you.

Do you have liability insurance?
Yes!

Do you take more than one wedding a day?
No, I take one wedding a per day to ensure that I give 150% to all my couples.

This sounds like everything we’ve been looking for! What happens next to start the process?
The next step is for you to email me to set up your complimentary consultation. I want to hear about your needs and what package fits your style, budget and personality best.

May we contact some of your former clients to see what it is like to work with you?
Yes, you can also look at my client testimonials here right now.

I have a couple more questions before getting started. Can I call you before getting started?

Yes, in fact I highly encourage and require my clients to schedule a complimentary consultation so you can get all of your questions answered and make sure we are a great fit for one another. Please email me
or call me at 206-250-9105 to schedule your consultation.
