Anniversary Photos at Rattlesnake Lake in the Washington Mountains | Rudy + Yesenia
When you are from California, the mountains of Washington look almost exotic to you, and that is why Rudy and Yesenia came to Rattlesnake Lake for their engagement style photos for their anniversary.
I love the trend of anniversary photo shoots as well as hiring a photographer for an engagement style photo session when you go on vacation.
It's such a special way to capture truly memorable photos of both of you while on a trip.
From Rudy and Yesenia :
"My wife and I found Rebecca online as we are California residents and we're traveling to Seattle for our anniversary. Rebecca was the only one of a handful of photographers that we reached out to that actually contacted us back. She very flexible with her availability as we were in Seattle only a couple days and wanted to take portraits to commemorate our 5 year anniversary. It was awesome meeting Rebecca and she traveled with us to shoot at an amazing setting outside of Seattle. Very professional and a delight to work with. We were blown away with the final portraits. Definitely recommend her for anybody that is looking to create beautiful memories through her photography. Thanks Rebecca!
Rudy and Yesenia contacted me the week before they were going to be in town with some images for inspiration that made me instantly think of Rattlesnake Lake.
It had been some years since I had been up here, and each time I come up, it takes my breath away with the beauty, so I was super excited for the shoot as I hadn't been here in a while.
I love the old tree stumps of massive trees that sit just past the waterline, and after a full day of nonstop rain, the sun decided to come out for us just as we were driving up. Since they were only in town for 48 hours, we were going through with their anniversary photo session rain or shine. As we pulled into the park, the sun was peaking through and settling on the mountain around us, while some clouds were sitting low giving us some more beautiful landscape to work with.
They wanted natural looking images, and less posed staring at the camera photos, while also capturing the beauty and the abundance of green. Coming from California, they were in their own oasis. We played by the water for a bit, me giving them ideas of how to interact and where to stand, and then stepping back and letting them do their own thing to capture the natural images that they so desired.
We walked around the lake and then wandered into the forest along the trail that leads to Rattlesnake Ledge and took in the tall and skinny trees which make for yet another stunning backdrop. We didn't make plans to hike to the ledge because of timing but were able to use the trees at the base of the trail for some epic images.
Since the day had been full of rain, we were virtually the only people at the park (which is rare with how very popular the area is). It was beautiful and serene, and a fabulous way of ringing in 5 years of marriage for this amazing couple.
Congrats Rudy and Yesenia! I hope you print these images large and make art with them.
