When photographing a wedding, I am likely to do almost anything to get a photo I think that will make my clients happy. I've been known to stand in the road, lean over past a railing, stand on a rickety chair and more. Honestly it doesn't even cross my mind not to do these things if I know the photo I will get will be worth it.
I was a the Hall at Fauntleroy wedding venue earlier this year and I asked John, my second photographer to capture some behind the scenes photos of me working. I had this blog post in mind, and have had it for a while. So I am stoked John got some of these wedding behind the scenes photos.
To give perspective, the first shot is me (mostly looking silly) and the second shot is the photo I was working on in the first shot :)

And sometimes the job is not just photos. If hair needs a little fix while we are shooting, I swoop in to fix it. I keep extra bobby pins and a emergency kit with me for just these reasons.
This couple visits this fun little quick e mart that sells beer regularly. Since it was down the street from the venue, we took a little side jaunt with the bride and the boys and had a quick beer. And while shooting in a quick e mart isn't exactly photogenic, it's fun to do things that will bring a smile to my clients faces whenever they look at the photos. Plus working with reflections in the table made it a bit different :)
Behind the scenes : capturing guests right before the ceremony.
And just for fun, this was more for entertainment while I was standing in on John's light test... It was a 90+ day and it was warm. I usually sport a funny or ridiculous face when standing in for light tests, as it makes for a fun behind the scenes reel of me and my cohorts ;)
It's fun to see where I tend to cram myself for a good photo.... anything for the shot, and also why I wear black lol.
