They had a plan. The wedding was a year plus out, the location was England. Tim is from England, so they wanted to have the wedding over there. They had plenty of time, then they started looking at the costs, and schedules around both their busy work schedules and the plan changed. Tim's parents were coming to visit in 6 weeks. They could have a small intimate ceremony here instead. They just bought a house in Wallingford, they could have it in the backyard right? No big deal that the house wasn't the color they loved, or that their backyard was completely undone, or that their work schedules were... well crazy. They could do it right?
No problem they said, and wow oh wow did they pull it off.
They chose a Friday which made planning a bit easier. They recruited friends to come help. They worked as a team finding the vendors they wanted and trusted each others choices, and it worked out amazingly.
They went to the paint store and found the perfect dark blue to paint the house. Then they got to painting.
They ordered dirt and sod, invited friends over to help flatten their backyard, lay some sod, add a brick walkway and run some lights. Then they got dirty.
They heard good things about Duos Lounge in West Seattle. Hired them over the phone for an intimate dinner for 14 and trusted that they would be good (and man were they!)
They knew they were going to need a big table to sit their intimate party of 14, so they called Seattle Farm Tables for a beautiful table to host their first meal as a married couple.
They found me through the Seattle Photo Co and hired me the day before the wedding after just a 10 minute chat on their phone.
There were a lot of balls in the air, and a lot of room for mistakes. Many things could have gone wrong, but it didn't. It was such a smooth lovely day.
Lauren's mom made her dress, her dad put the flowers together. Tim brought out a laptop and streamed the ceremony for the family in London watching at 1am their time.
The weather was perfect. The smiles were everywhere. The food was amazing and genuine nature of Lauren and Tim was heartwarming.
This was a wedding of true teamwork, just like their marriage will be. Enjoy!
