I love intimate weddings. Where every single person there celebrating your union is a close and important person in your life. Brittany and DJ had just that for their June wedding at JM Cellars in Woodinville. They knew that their wedding could easily go to the 150-200 person range with a quickness, and consciously chose at the beginning to invite just the closest of the close to their wedding. Offer amazing food, and actually have time to have a conversation with each of their guests. So they did just that.
As DJ mentioned to me "The people who would've been at the rehearsal dinner and as bridal party became the guests at the wedding, keeping it low key and relaxed."
Brittany and DJ share a love of wine, and 18 months before their wedding day, they found their way to a wine tasting a JM Cellars and fell in love with the ambiance of the space... as well as the wine :) They were married by the amazing Elaine Way of Seattle Wedding Officiants in the barrel room, choosing to wait until she walked down the aisle before setting eyes on each other for the day. In the cool of the barrel room, keeping the 90 degree heat at bay, they spoke their vows and spoke of the excitement for the family they are creating, as Brittany was also 20 weeks pregnant!
JM delighted the guests with a wine tour in the barrel room while the couple and I escaped to give them a couple moments focusing on each other and creating their portraits. Lisa Dupar Catering delighted the guests with family style gourmet dishes of beef and salmon and greens that were to die for. Brittany's sister, who couldn't make it to the wedding as she was 8 months pregnant and in Korea, Facetimed in through the ceremony, dinner and toasts. Enjoying in the wedding from across the world in a way that was unrealistic just a couple years ago.
As the sun went down the light faded Brittany and DJ danced under twinkle lights, being watched by the 35 people who love them most in the world, and it was an amazing day to document.
Congrats Brittany and DJ and I can't wait to meet your little one when she arrives!
