Purple & Orange DIY Farm Wedding in Poulsbo - Thomas and Heather
20 years ago... well, 22 to be exact a kid named Thomas and his twin brother Berkley met this kid named Pete. They were rambunctious, mischief causing ten year olds running a muck on the streets of Kirkland, WA in the 90s. Then they grew up and life took them to different parts of the world. Both Thomas and Berkley finding their way to Appleton ,Wisconsin, and Pete stayed in the Seattle area and married m e (neat :) )
While distance kept them apart for close to a decade, they were the kind of friends that distance didn't matter for. A couple years ago, Pete was turning 30, and I knew that the thing Pete would enjoy the most was if he could spend some time with the twins. While Berkley had a new wife and a new baby, he was not able to come out for our surprise, Thomas and I were able to sneaky sneak like get him in town to surprise Pete.
And surprise him he did. Pete was speechless that his best friend was here for the weekend, and was completely clueless to the other half of the surprise that awaited... his party at our friend Sarah's house.
A surprise party for Pete that would end in Thomas meeting Heather, and their attraction to each other was like a light being turned on in the room.
Our super confidant, and still laid back, will kick your ass with Karate or take you on an epic hike, and down for just about anything friend Heather caught Thomas' eye, and nothing was going to keep him away... not even the fact that he lived across the country.
After 3 days hanging out with us... and most notably, Heather, Thomas went back to Wisconsin to his "real life." Well, to keep that string of surprises going strong.... Thomas moved back to Washington within two months of meeting Heather.
If only we had known it would take meeting Heather... Pete and I would have done that long long before to bring him back!
And now, 2.5 years later, and a ton of laughs and adventures together, Thomas and Heather became Mr. and Mrs. Lamb.
These two are the biggest goofballs, and have the biggest hearts of anyone around. Down to laugh, down to get out and do anything in nature, and down to help any friend with just a moments notice, Thomas and Heather are there.
So, it was fabulous after how much they are there for others, their entire community came out to help them put on their beautiful summer DIY farm wedding in Poulsbo.
Getting married on his aunt's farm, and using the unusually large Lamb family (Thomas is one of 6... and his mom is one of 13... there are just a ton of them around!) to help with a delicious potluck meal, their wedding was a hit, and was a beautiful night of laughter and shenanigans.
While Pete was Best Man #2 (twin brother Berk holding in spot #1), I was honored to photograph their love, their story, and lots lots lots lots and lots of funny goofy faces from these too.
