Sometimes when you meet a couple, you just click, and I felt that way right after meeting Matt and Allison about their wedding. Allison instantly reminded me of my husbands cousin, Janessa, who is one of my favorite people. With multiple bright colors in her hair, a knack for being crafty (in the coolest ways) and just a low bs manner that I was comfortable with right away. Paired with Matt who is just as laid back and quirky, always wearing his flip flops (he's known for it... no shoes for this one). Both of them highly intelligent , love conversation and 100% laid back ready to have some fun and see what kind of adventures they can get into. Which is what brought us to their road trip engagement session. As I got to know them, I found out their idea of a get away is getting some Jamba Juice, hopping in the car and seeing where the road takes them. Once their road tripping adventure even took them to another state in hopes of buying a vintage pinball machine!
They had mentioned Cranberry Lake which was up by Anacortes and was where Matt *almost* proposed to Allison. It's a hidden lake surrounded by houses and no easily noticeable access, but with some sleuthing they found a way to the lake and spent the afternoon chatting and wandering when Matt planned to propose, but things just didn't end up happening that day, and he ended up asking her a couple weeks later.
None the less Cranberry Lake was a highlight of some of their recent adventures and so we three jumped into the car, took some photos along the way then found our way back to the hidden lakeside and completed their road trip engagement session. One of my favorite sessions of the summer just because it was so laid back, goofy and true to the couple.
