Krista and Ryan were married on one of the craziest weather weekends I have seen in Washington. Their plan for an outdoor wedding at Alderbrook Resort and Spa in Union WA, and while the plan for the sunny day didn't quite work out as planned, they didn't let the sudden change dampen their spirits. They love being on the water... on their boat if at all possible, and when they can't be on the water they love to be near it. (You should check out their adorable engagement session on their boat!) So they definitely weren't going to let a little rain make a difference. The day promised some sun, some clouds, some thunder and some rain. A nice little medley :) The first set of photos below were all taken about an hour apart through out the day. Washington promised to bring it all !
Ryan and Krista met some years ago and became friends. They were happy in that relationship for a while until they had some time to spend solo together and realized just how much they enjoyed spending time with each other. Much of their time spent falling in love included the water. So much that last year they bought a beautiful sailboat, with neither of them knowing how to sail, but knowing they wanted to learn together. So, a water/nautical theme surrounded by the Puget Sound at Alderbrook was just perfect for them. They brought together 50 of their closest friends to share with them in their celebration of their relationship and it was an amazing afair. The weather was not to disrupt a thing, and every time the sun made it's appearance all Krista's bridesmaids would shout "Diggy, the sun!!!" (Diggy is her nickname). They were here to celebrate come rain or shine and celebrate they did!!
Congrats Ryan and Krista for having such a magical day, come rain or shine :)

When I brought Ryan out to the dock a instructed my assistant Amber to bring Krista out a couple minutes later, it was lightly sprinkling. In the 3 minutes it took for us to be on the dock waiting for Krista to come over for their first site, the sprinkles turned to an absolute downpour! The smile on their faces didn't waver for a minute though when they saw each other for the first time... we just waited to do the smiles and hugs and "oh my Gods" until we rushed under cover!
