My Venue Wishlist

There are a handful of venues I'd love to either go back to or to photograph for the first time.

If you are getting married at any of these venues below, mention this list when you inquire and you can get $100 off of your photography package.

Roche Harbor |  Rosario | Mt Rainier   | Semiahmoo | Bella Luna Farms |  McMenamins Anderson School | The Admiral's House  | Great Hall at Union Station |  Chihuly Garden  |  Corson Building |  Seattle Art Museum  |  The WAC | The Rainier Club  | MOHAI | The Museum of Flight |  Columbia Tower Club | The Ruins | Froggsong Gardens

My wife and I found Becca by chance, really, when we were conducting an early internet search for a wedding photographer. We were drawn in by the down-to-earth tone of her website and the stunning photographs showcased.

When we met Becca for the first time, we had a very comfortable conversation about who we are as a couple and what our goals were for our wedding (at the time, we didn’t know much more than that we wanted great photos!). Becca discussed her approach, her training, and the different services she offers. She recommended an engagement session so that she could “get to know” who we are and how we present in front of a camera.

While we weren’t completely convinced that we needed engagement photographs, the benefits she described from an engagement session seemed entirely worth it, so we proceeded. THEY WERE THE MOST AMAZING PHOTOGRAPHS EVER TAKEN OF US! Even more, we learned what she meant and was looking for in each of her directives. This translated beautifully at the wedding, when we needed much less instruction and direction for the photographs.

Becca was easy to work with, and always paid close attention to our wish-list and camera-related insecurities. She has a fantastic sense of humor and a knack for putting folks at ease. I honestly didn’t even notice her during our wedding ceremony and most of the reception, but we have HUNDREDS of photographs, and every single one from our desired wish list.

I can’t imagine anyone more professional and easy to work with, and intend to return to Becca for future photographic needs.

Seattle Wedding Venues

Hall at Fauntleroy [West Seattle]

Indoor/Outdoor ceremony, indoor reception > 250 guests

The Hall at Fauntleroy is tucked in West Seattle in historic Fauntleroy Schoolhouse. Your ceremony can be out in the garden during the summer, or in the lower ballroom during the winter. It’s the perfect wet season wedding venue. The upstairs ballroom has character with exposed brick and beautiful large windows. This is a favorite for larger weddings as well as indoor weddings.

Within Sodo [Sodo]

Outdoor/ Indoor >125 guests

Within Sodo is a very fun venue in the Sodo district (just down the street from corporate Starbucks). Very industrial on the inside, it gives you the ability to make it your own, and the roof top is a more modern space great for either a smaller ceremony or cocktail hour. The roof top is a great spot for wedding photos as well, as the locations outside the venue leave a lot to be desired photo wise.

DeLille Cellars [Woodinville]

Outdoor/Indoor >200 guests

DeLille Cellars makes you feel like you are at a French Chateau. Amidst the Woodinville Wine district, DeLille Cellars has a beautiful pond and lawn for outdoor wedding ceremonies, as well as receptions in the beautiful chateau. This is a photographically diverse and beautiful venue where you don’t really need to bring in much decor as the venue is unique by itself.

Skansonia [North Lake Union]

Outdoor/Indoor >150

The Skansonia is very PNW, as it is a retired WA state ferry turned event space. The Skansonia sits in the water on the North shore of Lake Union, with an outstanding view of downtown Seattle. Ceremonies in good weather are held on the bow and in wetter weather, ceremonies are held inside. The capacity is rated at 150, but I would personally suggest a smaller wedding of 100 or so because of the layout of the venue.

Jardin Del Sol [Snohomish]

Outdoor ceremony, tented reception  >200 guests

Jardin del Sol is a beautiful garden venue in Snohomish. The landscaping of the garden is organically beautiful and this is a space you don’t have to add much to. The ceremony looks out through the gardens and the reception area is tented.

Lake Union Cafe [East Lake Union]

Indoor >250 guests

The LUC is a unique venue in Seattle as it has a very vintage and speak easy type of feel to it. Guests sit in booths vs tables and the dance floor is in the middle and recessed (also where ceremonies happen). It's a venue you don't have to add a lot to as it has it's own charm but is also a harder venue to photograph as its innately dark and also covered in mirrors.

Hire a photographer who understands and can work within dark venues and uses lighting. Also a popular venue for those who don't want to have to get a ton of different vendors, as you get venue, cake, caterer and florist all through them.
